Since opening my shop, I have made some lovely friends. One of those people is Dianne and she has graciously agreed to share her summer home with us. She spends her summers here in St Andrews and winters in Vancouver. And what an eye for decorating she has! You will see many pieces she has purchased from Tweedside Road throughout her home. So lets take a look.
The guest room is inviting and peaceful in white and blue.
Dianne’s father bought the house sight unseen while working overseas as an engineer. It was originally built as staff housing for Connors fishery in the 50s and it was pretty tiny. So a large open room was added with a master bedroom downstairs. Both rooms take full advantage of the incredible sea views.
When Dianne inherited the summer house, her first step was to paint the walls and wood panelling white for a clean, fresh canvas.
Step out the door from the master bedroom to Dianne’s patio for some al fresco dining, reading or just gazing out at the sea.
I can’t imagine a more perfect place to spend the summer. As I said to Dianne, I don’t think I would get much done besides gazing out at the water if this were my house.
A great big thank you to Dianne for allowing me to share her beautiful home with all of you.
