Welcome to our home on Tweedside Road. It’s well lived in, comfy and always a work in progress.
Grab a cup of tea and check out this year’s Christmas decor!
A few years ago we put a large addition on our house and added the front porch across the length of it. I can’t tell you how much I love having a great big front porch! It’s so much fun to decorate!
I painted up an old pair of skates and hung then in a gold frame I had laying around. I was short on ribbon so I dug in my closet and found this pretty fabric which was a window valance at one time. It served the purpose quite nicely of dressing up this vignette.
Lets head inside and warm up.
Bentley, the dog, and William, the cat are very comfortable in front of the camera. We just put this little wall collage together. I really love that wooden thing but I have no idea how it was originally used. It has numbers above the individual compartments.
This is our first year with an artificial Christmas tree and I am enjoying having it up so early. I love Christmas and the longer I can enjoy all the decorations, the better!
I spray painted some bull rushes silver and tucked them throughout the tree. They add some fluffiness and fill in the holes. Our tree is very traditional and I love the assortment of ornaments we have collected through the years. The bull rushes are an unexpected touch.
More spray paint on these metal birds above my patio doors and on the little houses amongst the white bottle-brush trees.
We all love to gather around this fireplace throughout the winter. Coziest spot in the house! My Mom painted the lovely snow scene. She is very talented.
The cute little elves were given to me by my Grammy Whittaker when I was little. Little treasures like these figurines really personalise any home adding history and special meaning.
Thanks so much for dropping by! I wish you a season of love and happiness. God Bless you all! Merry Christmas!!
